Welcome to Granny’s Gaff, a kind of village post office and tea shop selling everything you need, 24 hours a day.
Our character Grannies can make any purchase into a comic event. Imagine you want tea and crumpets at 5am- Granny’s Gaff is the only place to go! Since when was it easy asking your Granny for condoms or tampons? We take this comedy principle and run and run with it, inhabiting a position of “wrongness” in every event we attend. Spun-out festival goers make the best
woollen jumpers if knitted well, as they say!
Our act is tailored to suit different audiences. We’ve worked with such diverse customers as well-to-do families at the Regents Park village fete, to fun-loving hippy families at Shambala and Beautiful Days (kids love us!), to the ravers of Global Gathering and the eclectic hipsters at The Secret Garden Party, Electric Picnic and The Lovebox Weekender.
The gaff changes style throughout the day and night. Selling tea, breakfast and loo rolls to the early birds through to cream teas and cake for luncheon, maybe? An afternoon of turnip boules and old-time bands soon turns into an evening of storytelling with soup and rolls. After supper it’s onto comedy DJ’s with tea, toast and brandy coffees for the up-all-nighters.
